Connor’s Visit

July 25, 2007

My younger brother Connor payed a visit to Dinkytown for one week. He’s in Allendale right now, but he’ll be back in MN for camp (as well as the rest of the family minus the older sister).

Monday night, we played a game of soccer on campus.

On Tuesday, we took a [sweet] walk downtown with Ben, in which we stopped in at Collin’s dad’s work. He works on the 3rd highest floor in the tallest skyscraper in Minneapolis. The view was great…and nobody had thought to bring a camera.

Wednesday, we went on a quick trip to the mall, where Connor brought new sandals for my birthday (thanks bud!). I think we also did something else this day. In the evening, there was video broadcasting, and soccer afterwards.

Thursday, Connor spent the day in Burnsville with a few other high-school guys, working and swimming at Olson’s. I took the day off. We met up at the servant camp meeting. (I’m unit head for 6th grade girls, and Connor is working with 7th grade boys).

Friday was relaxing…Connor went to a Twin’s game in the evening with John and spent most of the day with the guys.

Saturday, I didn’t see Connor til about 4 o’clock. I was doing chores, then rested b/c of being sick, then I was head cook for Lord’s day. It turns out Connor did chores and then missionary work…and then he came to help cook. After Lord’s Day, we went and watched fireworks on the Stonearch bridge. There are some pictures on John’s account…I took the ones of the persons with Ben’s sweet camera. John and i decided that we had two subjects that night… 1. the people standing in the semi-circle around us, and 2. the fireworks.

Sunday, after church and brunch, I drove Connor into Burnsville, where he left for Allendale.

Sweet-ums! (as Connor would say)

Buffalo Camp

July 6, 2007

During the last week of June, I went to a POP youth camp near Buffalo, New York. I drove with Ben, John and Angie from Dinkytown to Indy. We left our car there and joined a caravan of 2 vans and an SUV pulling a trailer. We arrived at Buffalo Camp on Sunday afternoon.

I was head counselor for 8th grade girls. It was awesome…

-I played sports every afternoon for 2 hours!

-I got to know kids and peers from NOVA, Indy, Buffalo, South Bend, Tampa, New Orleans, Shreveport, Grenada, and Portland!

-I gave my testimony to my girls as well as the 9th and 10th grade girls and boys

-I climbed the tower and went on the high ropes death swing(my name for it). I don’t like heights

-I got to pray with many young women, including baptizing some in the Holy Spirit!

Here are some pictures of my girls:

Trip to Zoo

July 3, 2007

On June 18th, I went to the Minnesota Zoo with four of the Willard children. It was a blast!

The tunnels were a sweet idea for kids to experience the wild life. My hat goes off to whoever thought of that.

oh dear. or should i say oh deer.

We also saw a dolphin show – hopefully i’ll get a video of that up later.

Going to the zoo is something I’d do again…but only with kids.

Peace out.

Praise the Lord!

I received my social security card in the mail today – one week before it was supposed to come!!! This means that I’ll be able to start work at my school this week! The number is…I haven’t even looked at the number myself yet, and I wouldn’t tell you anyways b/c I’ve been told it’s not a good thing to give out. Thanks for the tip Joe.
